Meet Judith
Judith draws inspiration from her surrounding natural environment. “I paint whatever I feel passionate about, whatever interests me and presents a challenge.” As an artist concerned about the environment and conservation of our natural resources, Judith takes a naturalistic approach to her subjects emphasizing detail, realism and beauty.
Relocating to the Eastern Shore of Maryland from the mountains of the Adirondacks and the St. Lawrence River regions of New York State has allowed Judith a whole new natural playground to study and learn from. “There is much beauty here on Eastern Shore of Maryland from the Atlantic Ocean to the Chesapeake Bay. New vegetation, insects ,birds, animals and trees to explore and paint.”
Judith Utter’s nature inspired Illustrations and Fine Art Paintings are awarded and widely collected. Ms. Utter works mainly in watercolor at times incorporating color pencils and pen & ink. Judith’s process develops as subjects are heavily researched, details noted, preliminary sketches created and paintings begun. Judith’s style evolves with a scientific bent, humor and lots of color.
